Oily Skin Care 1⃣0⃣1⃣

Hey Ladies,

Today I’m coming to you with some simple but effective steps which I believe will definitely help in getting clearer skin. I naturally do have oily skin which 100% sucks as I get breaks out ever so often as well as super shiny skin after a long day. Of course we are all different and what does work for some might not work for all. However, I’m sure some effectiveness of some sort will be guaranteed! For sure!

I’m a firm believer that the less products used the better the results are. This cleansing routine consist of literally 3 items.

  1. Vitamin D
  2. Simple- Oil balancing Exfoliating Wash
  3. Coconut Oil

Vitamin D

Vitamin D or sometimes called the ‘Sunshine Vitamin’ is a vital supplement which most darker skin people do lack especially during the bleak winter months. This is great not only for our overall health but an excellent vitamin for breakouts/acne.

  • Reduces Inflammation– Vitamin D is a natural anti-inflammatory for the body. (Lessens irritation and swelling) supplements or a healthy diet can help support a healthy immune system; this is good for fighting infections or acne breakouts.
  • Reduces Stress – The intake of vitamin D has the ability to change moods for the best. Some people do break out because of stress and might be happy to know that Vitamin D relieves stress, seasonal depression and anxiety; which are all linked. This all reduces your cortisol levels and prevents spots/acne.
  • Great for Immune System – The better guarded our immune system is the better it works at preventing breakouts, bacteria and helps to repair the skin.

Vitamin D deficiency occurs in many dark skin people especially in countries where the sun does not shine enough, whilst Those of a fairer complexion do not need as much exposure to the sun. Diet control can help to increase your intake but most vitamin D food do not have enough of the required amount so supplements are sometimes taken instead.

Simple Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash
This facial wash is absolutely amazing, truth be told I
was quite apprehensive at first but over a period of a few months I have grown to love this exfoliator. This contains two great agents :which hazel which is great for repairing the skin and blemishes; Zinc PCA– which is what controls an balance oil shine by absorbing the excess oil.

This exfoliator is so good that if I sometimes forget to use my mattifying primer it is absolutely fine. I cannot rave enough about this product, money well spent.

I’ve found that this product is best used with a soft facial brush while exfoliating. You can do this as often as you want, 2-4 times a week depending on you as an individual.

Coconut Oil

coconut oil

This product is much loved by both myself and Tosin. After all that exfoliation coconut oil is the best way to rejuvenate and soften your skin. It may seem obscure to apply oil to skin that is already combating oil but this does not leave a long lasting oily residue. Instead it hydrates and prevents the skin from drying out just the perfect balance.

EXTRA- Coconut oil is also naturally antibacterial, moisturizing and anti-fungal!

As usual with all skin care routines remember to give yourself time for the product to work effectively as change does not happen overnight. I hope you learned something new today
